Useful Information for Your Trip
We want your arrival in São Sebastião to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. Here, you will find recommendations about the airport, transportation, car rentals, and other useful information to help you enjoy the region.
For guests traveling from abroad, we recommend arriving at São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport – GRU, as it is the main international airport and offers the best transportation options to São Sebastião.
When purchasing your flights, please make sure that your arrival airport is Guarulhos (GRU).
Buses are available from Guarulhos Airport to the São Sebastião Bus Terminal. We recommend checking the schedules and purchasing your tickets in advance through the Pássaro Marron/Litorânea website, as departure times may vary.
When booking your ticket, select:
- Departure: Guarulhos Aeroporto
- Destination: São Sebastião Rodoviária
Please allow enough time between your flight’s arrival and the bus departure, particularly for immigration, baggage claim, and moving between areas within the airport.
Another option is to rent a car directly at Guarulhos Airport, where you will find companies such as Localiza and Movida.
We recommend booking your vehicle in advance, especially because it will be a busy weekend.
If you prefer to travel to São Sebastião first, you may also check vehicle availability at rental companies in the city, such as Localiza, as well as other agencies operating in the region.
São Sebastião and Ilhabela are surrounded by nature and are home to small insects locally known as borrachudos.
We recommend purchasing a specific insect repellent after arriving in São Sebastião or Ilhabela. Local pharmacies and shops sell products specially formulated for these insects, generally citronella-based or with an oily formula.
Apply the repellent before going out and remember to reapply it after swimming or coming into contact with water.
We recommend using Waze for all journeys. The app can help you find the best routes and provides updated traffic information.
Roads and avenues throughout the region have different speed limits and monitoring points. Please drive carefully, follow all traffic signs, and allow additional travel time on weekends.
As the date of our celebration approaches, we will add further information about bus schedules, transfers, car rentals, routes, and other important recommendations.
